ITA Nordic acquires Salon Konepaja

January 22, 2025, the engineering company ITA Nordic Oy and Steelsalo Oy signed an acquisition agreement, transferring the entire share capital of Salon Konepaja to ITA Nordic’s ownership.

ITA Nordic Oy is a Finnish contract manufacturer for machine and equipment manufacturers, specializing in the production and assembly of high-quality and technically demanding turned and milled precision parts. With this acquisition, ITA Nordic’s turnover will increase from 19 million euros to 27 million euros, and the number of employees will grow from 84 to 120. The acquisition is part of ITA Nordic’s growth strategy and strengthens its expertise in the production of technically demanding components. Our customers include leading companies in their fields, such as ABB, Sandvik, and Wärtsilä.

Salon Konepaja is a machining company specializing in subcontract manufacturing, with a turnover of 8 million euros and 36 employees. The company’s core competencies are machined, geometrically demanding, and precisely tolerated products.

Operations at the Salo plant will continue as usual, and the jobs of the skilled staff will remain in Salo.

Responsible and competent domestic ownership

We want to be a recognized Finnish owner and create jobs in Finland. For our customers, the acquisition will be reflected in a broader delivery capacity, high-quality products, and the ability to better meet future requirements in sustainability, says Tommi Matikainen, Chairman of the Board of ITA Nordic.

As the seller, I considered it particularly important that the operations will continue with a Finnish industrial player who has the ability and willingness to invest in the Salo plant in the future, says Simo Halonen, owner of Steelsalo.
